More Useful Information - Web Charts

  1. 1 month complimentary trials are available for up to 5 users per company.
  2. Currently it does not provide route planning, and charts are sold in a one-off package and not as regions, in line with how they are most commonly used.
  3. Vessels can search for ports from the toolbar using:
    1. The name of the port
    2. Chart number
    3. Name within title of chart
  4. If ENCs are licensed, 3 display options can be selected from ‘type’ field:
    1. ARCS
    2. ENCs
    3. Mix
  5. The ENC display allows 3 views:
    1. Base
    2. Standard
    3. Full
  6. On ARCS charts, ‘zoom’ tool zooms in on current charts, whereas on ENCs, it changes the display to a higher usage band, of one available.
  7. If you pick report on ARCS chart, it shows information relating to whole chart. On an ENC, clicking on pick report returns attribute information for that position.
  8. To measure distance, click once at start point, once at turning points and double click at end point.
  9. To print chart image: remember to select ‘landscape’.
  10. In ‘Admin’ module, standard users can change their own password.
  11. Inactive sessions will be ended after 15 minutes.

Pan Zoom Tool:

  1. You can zoom in using either the scale bar below the pan buttons or by clicking on +/- buttons.
  2. It pans the charts by about 1/3 of the display in direction indicated
  3. ARCS charts can be displayed at 5% or 10% of normal scale. To restore normal scale use zoom in tool in area you require
  4. Zooming in on a position in ENCS will reveal detail of multiple navigational purpose cells.
